South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung has just brought to shelves on the UK market a new Galaxy S model, one that was announced officially a few months ago, the Samsung Giorgio Armani Galaxy S smartphone.

The new smartphone packs about the same features and capabilities as other Galaxy S models, though it includes the Giorgio Armani branding, which should make it more appealing than before.

The handset was brought to the UK market via retailer Phones4U, which already put it on its website as in stock.

The retailer lists the new smartphone as available with monthly contracts at wireless carriers in the country, with price tags starting at free on monthly plans as low as £45.96 (with a 24 month agreement with Vodafone).

The specifications list of this mobile phone includes the same 4-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen as with the other Galaxy S models, as well as the 1 GHz Samsung Hummingbird processor.

The new Samsung Giorgio Armani Galaxy S also includes 512 MB of RAM, along with 16 GB of storage space, complemented by a microSD memory card slot for additional memory space.

Other specs of the new handset would also include a 5-megapixel photo snapper with 720p HD video recording capabilities, as well as support for HSPA connectivity options, and for Wi-Fi.

The smartphone includes a built-in GPS receiver, along with Bluetooth capabilities, and support for various applications available for download via the Android Market, and for a great deal of services that Google offers to end-users.

One of the most important features of this device would be the inclusion of Android 2.2 Froyo into the mix, a platform version that was not available on Galaxy S right from the start, and which still hasn't arrived on all devices out there.

Those who would like to learn more on the Samsung Giorgio Armani Galaxy S and on the contract options it was made available within the UK should head over to Phones4U's website here.
