Samsung unveiled its newest smartwatch, the Gear S – the fifth in the lineup, a few days before IFA 2014 started.

In Berlin, the tech giant put the wearable on display for the first time, showing off its curved display and cool features.

What the tech giant didn’t say was when the watch would be available for pickup or how much it would cost. Well, finally, we’re able to share with you the exact information on the topic.

Samsung Gear S arrives in the US early next month

Good news, the smartwatch will become available for us sooner than expected, as the device will arrive in the States on November 7.

It will be sold in black and white and will come to all major American carriers, including AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon, which all offer different payment plans for it. The watch will also sell from Samsung’s own Experience Shops.

AT&T is selling the watch for $199.99 with a two-year contract and $10 per month on Mobile Share plan. The Gear S reaches T-Mobile a few days later on November 9.

Pricing starts at $0 outright with 24-payment installments set at $14.58 a month ($349.92 total). There’s also a standalone plan for $5 per month for unlimited talk and text and 500MB of data.

At Sprint, sales start on November 9 with the watch going on sale for $0 down with 24 payments of $16 per month ($384 total). There’s also a plan pricing of $10 per month on a Family Share Pack.

Last but not least, Verizon will also sell the smartwatch for $349.99 with no additional payment plan involved.

Samsung Gear S or the Apple Watch?

So there you have it, the Samsung Gear S turns out to be the most expensive smartwatch we have ever seen on the market. Actually, its price is on par with the Apple’s Watch, but this timepiece is expected to launch in early 2015.

It remains to be seen if customers will be willing to pay so much money for a wrist-bound wearable even if this one aims to replace your smartphone.

The Samsung Gear S arrives with a curved Super AMOLED display sporting a 2-inch form factor and 480 x 320 resolution. Under the hood resides a 1GHz dual-core processor fitted with 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage.

The watch is IP67 rated for resistance to dust and water and supports 2G and 3G bands, thus allowing users to place phone calls while leaving their smartphone at home.

Would you pay so much for a stand-alone smartwatch?
