By now you are probably aware that Samsung has three new wearable devices out, including the Gear 2, Gear 2 Neo and Gear Fit. The triad has already made its way to the US and UK, but Samsung is currently pushing them in India as well.

As expected, the Gear Fit and Gear 2 Neo bear matching prices and they are available for sale for Rs. 15,450 / $257 / €187, which is a bit lower than the originally announced price-tag. The successor of the original Galaxy Gear, the Gear 2 is a little bit more expensive and has been listed with a Rs. 21,550 / $358 / €262 price-tag, also a little cheaper than the launching price.

For the moment, we don’t know why the devices are appearing with lower price-tags, but it’s probably Samsung’s way of celebrating the launch in the country and it won’t last long. The official Samsung India store says the Gear Fit, Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo will arrive on customers’ door step in three to five business days.

Compared to the Galaxy Gear predecessor, the two smartwatches are missing the Galaxy branding. This is Samsung’s way of highlighting that the new wearables aren't based on Android anymore, but on its own Tizen OS platform, an experimental platform, that has been in development for quite some time now.

The new Gear 2 is lighter and thinner than the Galaxy Gear, but the design makeover isn't so radical. One thing that stands out right off the bat, is the fact that the camera now lives in front of the watch and not on the wristband.

The Gear 2 comes with the same 1.63-inch screen with a resolution of 320 x 320, like we saw in the original Galaxy Gear. A 1GHz processor lies under the small hood, combined with 512GB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage.

The smartwatch is IP7 certified (meaning the watch is dust- and water-resistant) and has a heart sensor and IR blaster, so it can act as a fitness wearable too.

Moving on, the Gear Fit has a 1.63-inch Super AMOLED display and is a tad smaller and lighter than the Gear 2, being a health-centric device.

The Gear Fit is a bit of an odd child, because it does not run on Tizen or Android, but on the RTOS platform, which has been designed to do a finite list of specific tasks, but is very good at them.

Anyway, the Samsung official store has the three wearables available for sale, so if you want one, you should hurry up and take advantage of the special prices. Delivery starts April 11.
