Mobile phone users in the UK now have yet another great handset that they can purchase, the Android-powered Samsung Galaxy i7500, which has just been launched on O2's airwaves. The phone has been expected to make it on the UK market via O2 for quite some time now, and we should mention that it comes with a delay of about a week, considering that it should have been added to the carrier's offering on August 25.

One way or another, the great thing is that the phone is here and Android fans in the country can finally get their hands on it. Although it is the first handset from Samsung that runs under the Google Android operating system, the Samsung Galaxy i7500 is set to attract a lot of people on its side. One of its main selling points is the 3.2-inch HVGA AMOLED touchscreen display, which comes along with a 5-megapixel photo snapper and with 8GB of internal memory.

The specification list of the device also shows full HSDPA / HSUPA capabilities and a 3.5mm headphone jack, as well as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity, and a built-in GPS receiver. At the same time, the Galaxy i7500 also comes with a microSD memory card slot that allows for the expansion of its internal memory with additional storage space. Another thing that should be mentioned about the phone is that it is reportedly the slimmest handset in the Android area to feature full touchscreen capabilities.

As for the price tag Samsung Galaxy i7500 comes to the UK market with, we should mention that it can be acquired for free from O2 upon the signing of a service agreement with the carrier with a minimum monthly plan of £44.05 (which includes 1000 texts and 1200 minutes). Those who would like to go for a different plan might have to pay even as much as £244.67 (about $400) for it. The Samsung Galaxy can be seen on O2's website here.
