Samsung is preparing for the release of the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge in more than 20 countries, but the company doesn't neglect the launch of other more affordable Android smartphones.

The newly announced Samsung Galaxy Win 2 is an affordable Android smartphone that seems a bit overpriced considering what it has to offer in terms of specs.

Overpriced products is one of Samsung's main problems, which led to the South Korean company losing top position in many emerging markets.

The Galaxy Win 2 is no exception to the rule considering that it has just been released in Brazil and customers can grab it for no less than BRL 779 ($250) for the model with digital TV and BRL 729 ($233) for the version without one.

For that amount, customers won't get too many exciting features. First of all, Samsung Galaxy Win 2 runs Android 4.4.4 KitKat operating system out of the box, which is kind of old since Lollipop has been released for several months now.

Not the best specced smartphone launched by Samsung

On the inside, the smartphone is equipped with a 64-bit 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor and 1GB of RAM. There are only 8GB of storage inside, but users can further expand internal memory up to 64GB via microSD card slot.

The Galaxy Win 2 comes with a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera and a secondary 2-megapixel camera in the front for video calls and selfies.

The good news is Samsung Galaxy Win 2 offers dual-SIM and 4G LTE support, but also other connectivity options like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, microUSB and GPS with AGPS.

The Galaxy Win 2 is powered by a 2,000 mAh battery and measures 131 x 68.1 x 8.8 mm. For the time being, the smartphone is only available in Brazil, but it's likely to be introduced in other emerging markets with different name.
