Samsung Galaxy Trend Duos Coming Soon to India

The smartphone is likely to go on sale for under Rs 9,000 ($145/€105)

Samsung announced the Galaxy Trend Duos back in April and launched the smartphone on the market the following month. However, the handset is available in select countries and yet to make its debut in India.

Fortunately, this is about to change as AndroidOS reports that Samsung Galaxy Trend Duos will go on sale in India in the next few days.

The Galaxy Trend Duos is one of the mid-range smartphones that Samsung Mobile Country Head Vineet Taneja announced to be launched in India last week.

The second might be the Galaxy Ace 3 or Galaxy Express. Even though we originally thought that these two smartphones would be released this month in India, it looks like Samsung has decided to bring the Galaxy Trend Duos instead.

We don’t have any details on the smartphone’s price tag, but we suspect that it will go on sale for under Rs 9,000 off contract, which is about $145 or €105.

Samsung Galaxy Trend Duos is a mid-range smartphone that will ship with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box. We have no indication that Samsung plans to offer a further upgrade to this device, but we will keep an eye out for any additional info.

Furthermore, the smartphone comes equipped with a dual-core processor clocked at 1.2 GHz and possibly 1GB of RAM. We have no details on the amount of storage yet, but Samsung has confirmed that the Galaxy Trend Duos will feature microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

The mid-range handset sports a 4-inch WVGA capacitive touchscreen display that supports 480 x 800 pixels resolution and 233 ppi (pixel density). It also packs a 3-megapixel rear-facing camera and dual-SIM support.

We’re not sure when exactly the Galaxy Trend Duos will be available for purchase in India, but some retailers have already received the first batch of units and should start offering the device in the next couple of days. Stay tuned for more updates on the matter.
