Samsung has just released the source code for several versions of software for its Galaxy Tab Android tablet. The Korean handset manufacturer made available eight source packages, based on localization of the device, four International and four US versions.

Even though not all the company's software is open source, users will still be able to find lots of “goodies” inside the downloadable source code packs.

Mainly targeted for developers, the source code can be downloaded from Samsung's dedicated website.

International versions:

GT-P1000 GT-P1000_SEA_OpenSource.zip (South East Asia) GT-P1000 GT-P1000_OpenSource.zip (International) GT-P1000 GT-P1000_HKTW_OpenSource.zip (HK/Taiwan) GT-P1000L BR GT-P1000L_Latin_OpenSource.zip (Brazil)

US versions:

SCH-I800 USA DJ11 SCH-I800_OpenSource.zip (Verizon) SGH-T849 USA SGH-T849_OpenSource.zip (T-Mobile) SPH-P100 USA DJ30 SPH-P100_OpenSource_Update1.zip (Sprint) SPH-P100 USA DJ14 SPH-P100_OpenSource.zip (Sprint) Apparently, there's only one US source code missing and that's the one for AT&T, which hasn't disclosed the model number for its Galaxy Tab version yet.

Those that are looking to download the source codes should head over Samsung's dedicated website and click on the Mobile tab. They are listed by Model, Country, Version, Source code and Announcement.

Before downloading the sources for Samsung Galaxy Tab. devs should make sure they take a look at the Android Open Source Project's license documentation.
