Samsung released its premium AMOLED tablet family last summer and the slates have been updated to Android 5.0 Lollipop not so long ago.

But as we have been telling you, good old Sammy is also working towards a successor for these two models, and we already know that the upcoming Galaxy Tab S2 tablets will be thinner than the iPad Air and will sport a 4:3 aspect ratio.

This week, the folks at Sam Mobile bring us fresh information about the upcoming premium tablets. Apparently, Samsung will roll out both Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi+LTE variants for its 9.7-inch and 8-inch upcoming models.

The two slates will be metal-clad and will arrive boasting 2048 x 1536 pixel resolution on AMOLED displays, a 64-bit Exynos processor (maybe the same Exynos 7452 we see on the Galaxy S6), 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, microSD card, and Android 5.0.2 Lollipop out of the box.

Samsung will also offer an 8MP/2.1MP camera setup plus a Samsung in-house modem with Cat.6 LTE (300Mbps).

For those curious about the tablets’ dimensions, the 8-inch model will arrive at 198.2 x 134.5 x 5.5 mm / 7.79 x 5.29 x 0.21 inches, while the 9.7-incher measures 237.1 x 168.8 x 5.4 mm / 9.3 x 6.6 x 0.21 inches. Both are very light, tipping the scales at 260 g / 0.57 lbs and 407 g / 0.89 lbs, respectively.

Last but not least, the tablets are said to be set for release in June.
