Typically, Chinese Internet tablet knock-offs tend to take after one of the world's best-known products of this type, namely the Apple iPad, but that's not really the case with the device you're about to see as follows, the PV210, that looks almost identical to yet another famous tablet available worldwide, the Galaxy Tab. So, as GizInChina reports, it seems that a Shenzen-based company developed a Galaxy Tab look-alike called PV210, with Samsung apparently being directly involved in the design process, given the fact that the device packs a 1Ghz Samsung PC110 Cortex A8 CPU, instead of the usual Rockchip platform powering most other Android-running knock-offs out there.

We're not sure whether Samsung meant the PV210 to be a China-only, more affordable version of the Galaxy Tab, but that might actually be the case, especially since the rest of the features are consistent with the overall Tab configuration, the device sporting a 7-inch capacitive touch screen with 1024 x 600 pixels resolution and also 512MB of RAM memory.

Plus, much in the same way as most copies out there, this thing runs the Android 2.2 operating system, although no details on whether an app market place is available or not have been provided.

Of course, we can't be 100 percent sure of Samsung's direct involvement in the development of the knock-off tablet, but the idea of marketing a so called “clone” that's somewhat officially sanctions and available at a significantly lower price point seems to be quite an interesting one.

Last, but certainly not least, we'll have to admit that pricing for the PV210 tablet developed in Shenzen is nowhere near that of the original Galaxy Tab, the knock-off being rumored to sell for somewhere in the vicinity of 2000 Chinese Yuan (303 US dollars), while the genuine Samsung tablet reaches a whopping 6500 Yuan ($985).
