Soon, South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung would have on shelves three tablet PCs running under Google's Android operating system, each sporting a different screen dimension, at 7, 8.9 and 10.1 inches. While the 7-inch and the 10.1-inch tablet PCs were already brought to shelves, the middle sized one, dubbed Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9, still has to make an appearance on the market.

The Android 3.0 Honeycomb-based device was introduced in March, but won't hit the shelves until summer, at least this is what Samsung said at that time.

We're still waiting for Samsung to make further announcements on the tablet's availability, but, until that happens, you can learn a few more details on the device through the video embedded at the bottom of this article, available courtesy of NewGadgets.de.

The tablet PC arrives on shelves with a 8.6mm thick body, slimmer than the Apple iPad, and with an 8.9-inch touchscreen display that can deliver a 1280 x 800 pixel (WXGA) resolution.

At the same time, we should note that the new device comes with a 1GHz dual-core application processor inside, and with 16GB and 32GB of internal memory.

It would sport a 3-megapixel photo snapper on the back, complemented by a 2-megapixel camera on the front for video calling.

Galaxy Tab 8.9 also sports Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n connectivity capabilities, along with Bluetooth and support for HSPA+ networks.

The tablet PC would also arrive on shelves with leveraged multimedia capabilities, including 1080p HD video playback, surround-sound stereo speakers, Flash 10.2 support for a great Internet browsing experience, and with impressive gaming capabilities.

Samsung has preloaded the Galaxy Tab 8.9 with its Readers Hub and Music Hub applications, through which users would receive access to millions of ebooks, thousands of newspapers and magazines and millions of songs.

In March, Samsung announced that the new tablet PC would arrive on shelves in early summer with price tags of $469 and $569 attached to it, for the 16GB and 32GB models, respectively.
