Later this week during the IFA 2011 conference in Berlin, South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung is expected to bring to the market a new Galaxy Tab device, one that would be only a little larger than the original tablet PC.

Supposedly dubbed Galaxy Tab 7.7, the tablet PC was spotted in Samsung's Unpacked application that landed on the Android Market only a few days ago, and is expected to be launched in Berlin along with a new Galaxy Tab 8.9 flavor, and other new devices from Samsung as well.

The second tablet PC that Samsung would launch in the 7-inch area would actually sport a 7.7-inch touchscreen display, just as its name suggests.

The mobile device was already spotted in leaked images which reportedly show an external design that resembles a lot with the one available with Samsung's original Galaxy Tab tablet PC.

The upcoming Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 can be seen in the blurry photos attached to this article, but specific info on the hardware specifications it might sport when released is not known for the time being.

Chances are that, the same as the latest Galaxy Tab models, or the Galaxy S II smartphone, the upcoming tablet PC will sport a dual-core application processor too, along with 16GB or 32GB of internal memory.

It should also sport WiFi and Bluetooth capabilities, andit might even add 3G and 4G capabilities in certain models, although nothing has been confirmed on this until now.

However, Samsung does have a track record of launching both WiFi and 3G flavors of its tablets, as well as LTE-enabled models, which means that the new Galaxy Tab 7.7 might suffer a similar fate too.

Unfortunately, there is no telling on whether the new device will run under Google's Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS or under the Android 3.0 Honeycomb platform, but more details on this should become available soon, so keep an eye on this space for additional info on the matter.
