Samsung already introduced most of its Android tablets in UAE, including the Galaxy Tab 10.1, 8.9, 7.0 and 7.0 Plus. However, one of the few slates that come with GSM voice communications support, which allows owners to make or receive phone calls, the Galaxy Tab 7.7 was not available until today.

Touted world’s first tablet that features a Super AMOLED Plus display, the Galaxy Tab 7.7 is expected to go live in UAE within the next few days. Unfortunately, the Korean handset manufacturer did not disclose any details regarding the tablet’s price tag.

Aside support for GSM voice communication, the Galaxy Tab 7.7 features an improved 4G download speed with HSPA+ 21Mbps connectivity, as well as upload speed with HSUPA 5.76Mbps connectivity.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 measures 196 x 133 x 7.9mm and weighs only 340g (battery included). Even though the tablet is delivered with Android 3.2 Honeycomb on board, Samsung confirmed more than a month ago that it would push the Ice Cream Sandwich update to Galaxy Tab 7.0 in the first half of 2012.

At Samsung, we strive to be at the forefront of the Gulf’s tablet market. The launch of the Galaxy Tab 7.7 is a reflection of our commitment to providing a range to tablets to suit each Galaxy tablet user,” said Ashraf Fawakherji, general manager of Telecommunication Group at Samsung Gulf Electronics.

Hardware-wise, the slate is powered by a 1.4 GHz dual core processor and packs 16GB / 32GB / 64GB onboard memory, 1GB of RAM and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

There’s also a 3-megapixel photo snapper on the back with autofocus and LED flash, as well as a 2-megapixel front-facing camera for video calls.

The Galaxy Tab 7.7 is the perfect tablet for an on-the-go lifestyle and the amazing quality of the display will definitely enhance the user’s viewing experience,” concluded Fawakherji.
