Samsung has just announced plans to bring to the market in the UK a new device running under Google's Android operating system, namely the Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus.

The mobile phone maker already has appealing tablet PCs available for purchase in the UK, and will add the new device next to Galaxy Tab 7.7, 8.9 and 10.1.

The new addition to the company's range of tablet PCs offers support for a great multimedia experience, the handset vendor announced.

The Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus comes with a 7-inch WSVGA touchscreen display and offers support for DivX multi codec support for a great experience while on the go.

The new device also packs a fast 1.2GHz dual core application processor, which should result in increased performance capabilities.

Not to mention that it was packed with fast HSPA+ connectivity capabilities, and that it will be able to offer data transfer speeds that are up to three times higher than those available on usual 3G networks. The tablet PC runs under Google's Android 3.2 Honeycomb operating system and can deliver a great deal of appealing features that are powered by this platform.

The tablet PC also comes with a 3-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with LED flash, auto focus and video recording capabilities, as well as with a 2MP camera on the front, for video calling on the go.

“The Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus packs power and productivity into a lightweight design,” Simon Stanford, managing director, Mobile, Samsung UK and Ireland said.

“The latest addition to Samsung’s Galaxy Tab range demonstrates our ongoing dedication to designing a variety of premium tablets and continued innovation to suit different needs and lifestyles. We are delighted to be able to introduce the Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus to the Galaxy family in the UK later this year.”

Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus is expected to arrive on shelves at various UK retailers in the next few months.
