14 DAY TRIAL // Unveiled last month, Samsung's Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus tablet is expected to arrive in Japan sometime in December via NTT Docomo.
The carrier has just revealed its roadmap for winter 2011 – spring 2012, which confirms that the tablet will be released on the Japanese market in time for the holidays.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 comes to replace the older Galalaxy Tab 7, which was launched one year ago.
However, Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus is a big step forward for Samsung when it comes to new device, as the table could be one of iPad's main competitors even if it comes with a smaller 7.0-inch display.
It is also worth mentioning that Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus comes with support for GSM voice communication, SMS and MMS support, along with HSDPA (21 Mbps) and HSUPA (5.76 Mbps).
Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus is one of the slimmest tablets soon to be launched on the market, at only 9.9mm. The device measures 193.7 x 122.4mm and weighs 354g (battery included).
It comes with a 7.0-inch PLS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 16 million colors and 600 x 1024 pixels resolution, as well as accelerometer sensor for UI auto-rotate, three-axis gyro sensor and proximity sensor for auto turn-off.
Two versions of the tablet will be available on the market, as 16GB model and a 32GB version, but NTT Docomo has yet to announce if both will be introduced in Japan.
The tablet is equipped with an 1.2 GHz dual-core processor and runs Google's Android 3.2 Honeycomb operating system.
In addition, the tablet sports a 3-megapixel camera on the back, which features autofocus and LED flash and HD (720p) video recording capabilities, as well as a secondary 2-megapixel front facing camera for video calls.
No word on the tablet's price options or exact release date yet.
