Samsung has finally released the Galaxy Tab 680 in India, known otherwise as Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7. This is probably one of the last Samsung tablets that becomes available in India, before the Korean company announces new devices.

Two days ago Samsung made available the white-themed versions of Galaxy Tab 750, Galaxy Tab 730 and Galaxy Tab 620. Even though they are tagged as “Pure White” models, only the back cover of the slates is painted in white.

The Galaxy Tab 680 is only available in black color, but it won't be a total surprise if the handset maker will announce a white Galaxy Tab 7.7 as well.

Customers who want to purchased the Galaxy Tab 680 can do so through major retailer Flipkart for Rs 33,571 (680 USD or 515 EUR) outright.

One of the few Android tablets that features support for GSM voice communication, Galaxy Tab 680, aka Galaxy Tab 7.7 was introduced back in September during IFA 2011 exhibition.

This is the latest slate launched by Samsung on the market and will probably be the last to be shipped with Android 3.2 Honeycomb on board.

The Korean company confirmed plans to update the Galaxy Tab 7.7, along with other high-end Galaxy family devices, to Ice Cream Sandwich in the following months.

Rumor has it that the first to get the Android 4.0 update will be Samsung Galaxy S II on March 1, followed by Galaxy Note and the rest of the top tier Galaxy family smartphones and tablets.

All in all, Galaxy Tab 7.7 offers a smooth browsing and multi-tasking experiences courtesy to the powerful 1.4 GHz dual core processor, which is complemented by a Mali-400MP graphics processing unit and 1GB of RAM.

The tablets packs 16GB of internal memory, microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB), a 3-megapixel rear camera, as well as a secondary 2-megapixel front-facing camera for video calls.
