After announcing the Galaxy Tab 3 Neo in India last month, Samsung has finally started selling the “budget” tablet for a not-so-wallet-friendly Rs. 16,750 / $275 / €197.

If the tablet’s name doesn't really ring a bell for you, it’s because this is actually the Galaxy Tab 3 Lite 7.0 with a slightly re-branded name. Anyway, the Neo moniker is used by Samsung to market is budget products, even if this particular tablet isn't the cheapest in the bunch.

However, having the Samsung brand attached to the product might prompt a lot of customers to pay up without much hesitation. Now, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Neo has a 7-inch TFT capacitive touch screen display with a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels.

The tablet draws power from a 1.2GHz dual-core processor combined with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory (expandable to 32GB via microSD card). In the connectivity department, we have Wi-Fi b/h/n (2.4GHz), Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS + GLONASS and 3G HSPA+.

The Galaxy Neo 3 Tab runs Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) while life on the tablet is sustained by a 3600 mAh battery. With Samsung usually complying to update its tablets to the latest OS, we might see Android 4.4. KitKat arrive at some point in the future.

The tablet is up for grabs from the official Samsung Indian online store in black and white versions.
