So far Samsung’s kiddie slate, the Galaxy Tab 3 Kids has been available in select markets like the UK, US or Australia.

Now the Korean tech giant is unleashing it in Eastern Europe as well, hoping to catch the interest of parents and kids alike, just in time for the holiday season.

Sammy will offer the tablet bundled with a collection of local educational apps designed in the native language.

The tablet is protected by a funny-looking orange bumper, which ensures children won’t damage the slate as they play with it. Parents can take advantage of the Time Management function and set a schedule for tablet use, in order to ensure there’s no cartoon watching at night.

Flipping the switch and removing the casing will allow parents to enjoy the benefits of technology too, as the kiddie slate turns into a Galaxy Tab 3 7-inch fully-fledged Android slate for accessing email, browsing the web and streaming media.

The child slate features a 7-inch screen with a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels and draws power from a 1.2GHz dual-core processor coupled with 1GB of RAM. The model also supports a stylus (C Pen) which facilitates drawing and editing images (among other things).

The product is available for purchase from Samsung partners stores for the price of €224 / $309.
