The new promotion offers a decent tablet at a bargain

Looking for a tablet that won’t cost a fortune? It might be a good idea to make a stop at AT&T. The carrier offers a promotion until March 31, which will allow you to grab the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 for free.

Of course, you’ll have to embark on a two-year contract with the carrier, but judging by the fact the tablet usually costs $299 / €219 by itself, you’ll be making a pretty sweet deal (via Twitter).

The tablet has a 7-inch screen and boasts an ordinary 1024 x 600 pixel resolution and is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor combined with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory (expandable via microSD card).

Even if the default operating system is Android 4.1.2, users can update to Android 4.2.2; but if you were craving Android KitKat, forget about it.

There's also the option of waiting for the Galaxy Tab 4 (7.0) Degas, whose specs have been spotted yesterday. The next-gen Tab 3 (7.0) will come bundled with Android 4.4 and a more capable 1.2 quad-core processor. But it won’t be available for free, that’s for sure.
