Unveiled back in February and showcased at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 will soon be launched in South West Asia.

Starting next month Android enthusiasts will be able to purchase Galaxy Tab 7 successor for a price that will be announced closer to launch.

Even though the handset vendor did not disclose the slate’s release timetable, it’s certain that more details will follow within the next few weeks.

It is also worth mentioning the tablet will be available on the Asian market as Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 310.

However, this doesn’t come as a surprise as the South-Korean company always renamed its tablet when they were launched on the Indian market, in order to set them apart from European or North American version.

The Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 will be the company’s first Android 4.0-based tablet available on the market and will offer users new and improved Android OS features.

Aside from its Samsung Hubs services, the tablet will provide access to more than 450,000 apps via Google Play, as well as improved web browsing.

The slate is powerful enough to offer faster response times as well. In addition, the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 comes with the latest TouchWiz UX user interface with upgraded swipe control applications.

HSPA+ (21Mbps) and WiFi connectivity are available as well, along with Wi-Fi Direct and built-in social networking apps such as ChatON, Facebook and Twitter.

Hardware-wise, Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 comes with a dual-core processor clocked at 1 GHz. It also packs 8GB of internal memory, 1 GB of RAM and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB). Samsung will also introduce two additional Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 models, a 16GB version and a 32GB variant.

The slate comes with dual-cameras, a 3-megapixel rear photo snapper with full HD (1080p) video recording, as well as a secondary VGA front-facing camera for video calls.
