It appears that a certain device which its own makers called inadequate actually garnered more of a positive reaction that some may have expected upon being demonstrated on video.

The tablet market is one of those that are just now shaping up and has been home to various episodes of models getting trounced by new models, in more ways than one.

The iPad was the first out, then notebook and smartphone makers decided to challenge it, with varying degrees of success.

Then, not long ago, Apple launched the iPad 2 just after many Android models were revealed. It became an instant danger because it was thin and more affordable than them.

In fact, the iPad 2 actually made Samsung itself say that its Galaxy Tab 10.1 Honeycomb slate was too expensive to be competitive, even calling it inadequate.

Apparently, the product isn't as bad off as some may have feared, or so suggests a video recently made public online.

To be more specific, a fairly long video demo of the Galaxy tab 10.1 has been provided, though by someone other than Samsung, in which one can see everything from web browsing to playing videos and games.

Some notable actions included taking 8 megapixel photos, playing full HD movies and visiting websites with or without Flash Player.

All this is made possible by the 1 GHz dual core processor and the Android 3.0 OS, while the whole package weighs 599 grams.

One might say that this is a more or less similar demo as the one made for the 7-inch Galaxy Tab last week.

As mentioned, Samsung doesn't expect its tablet to make it far in a competition against the new Apple slate mostly because of the price and plans to make future designs more affordable and thin. Just how well it meets this goal, and how quickly, remains to be seen.
