Today, Verizon Wireless went official with yet another Android-powered smartphone for its 4G LTE users, namely the Samsung Galaxy Stellar.

Announced as a budget-friendly smartphone, the new handset comes to the market with Google’s Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system loaded on it, and has been SAFE (Samsung Approved For Enterprise) approved.

Furthermore, Verizon unveiled that the new handset will hit shelves as soon as September 6, and that it will be available for free with the signing of a two-year contract agreement with the wireless carrier.

The hardware specifications list of this mobile phone includes a 4-inch WVGA (800 x 480 pixels) touchscreen display that hides a dual-core Snapdragon 1.2GHz application processor beneath it.

Additionally, the new device also comes with a 3.2-megapixel photo snapper on the back and with a 1.3MP camera on the front, for making video calls.

In addition to support for Big Red’s LTE network, the new handset will also have to offer Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, along with a built-in GPS receiver, and a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of external storage.

One of the most important features of the new device is its SAFE (Samsung Approved For Enterprise) label, which includes 256-bit AES on-device encryption and enhanced Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync support.

Moreover, the same as Galaxy S III before it, the new mobile phone comes with support for a variety of VPN and Mobile Device Management systems.

Samsung Galaxy Stellar also lands on Verizon’s network with a dual-interface option, namely Starter Mode and Standard Mode.

While the former comes with a simple homescreen display that features a set of widgets such as Favorite Apps, Contacts and Settings, along with a quick dialer icon, the latter will provide users with the usual Android experience.

Starting with September 6, all Verizon Wireless users will be able to purchase the new Samsung Galaxy Stellar from their wireless carrier for free with the signing of a two-year contract and after a $50 mail-in rebate.
