The ever-fascinating Samsung Galaxy S6 jumps back into the rumor mill, as a new detail regarding it got unearthed today.

A report coming out of Korea’s ET News comes to confirm previous speculation stating that the Galaxy S6 will ship out with a serious 20MP camera module, which most importantly will take advantage of optical image stabilization (OIS).

Samsung working on a 20MP camera module with OIS

According to the information, Samsung Electro-Mechanics (SEM), a subsidiary of the Samsung Group, is developing a 20MP OIS camera module, which is expected to boost growth in Q1 2015 for the company, when Sammy is expected to roll out the Galaxy S6.

The report also mentions that the handset will become available two or three weeks earlier than expected. Samsung already confirmed it would introduce the Galaxy S6 during a press event scheduled on March 2.

So, if we’re to believe the Korean report, we could end up seeing the Galaxy S6 hit retail locations earlier than anticipated.

A 20MP main camera would place the Galaxy S6 on par with LG’s upcoming G4 flagship, at least in the photography department.

The Galaxy S6 is expected to be bringing about major improvements related to every department, with Samsung betting on the Galaxy S6’s help to bounce back in the game, after suffering over the past few quarters.

Most of Samsung's Galaxy S6 speaks leaked

According to the latest leaked info, the Galaxy S6 will arrive with a 5.1-inch Quad HD super AMOLED display with 577ppi. Under the hood resides a 64-bit octa-core CPU (it remains to be seen if it’s one of the Exynos or Snapdragon variety) which is said to be 50% faster than its predecessor. Cat 6 LTE compatibility will also be available.

The Galaxy S6 will also be the first to take advantage of Samsung’s new Pay service, which comes to compete with Apple Pay.

Sammy will be making the highly controversial TouchWiz UI less cluttered on the Galaxy S6, but sadly the device won’t be water resistant. However, a Galaxy S6 Active variant will be offered at some point.
