The problems might be of a hardware nature

The Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge have barely been out since last week, but as it often happens when new devices launch into the wild, reports of issues plaguing them have already appeared.

Well, it didn't take long before the first reviewers got the chance to spend some quality time with the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge, and what do you know? They already found something wrong with them.

According to an Asian report picked up by G for Games, it appears that Samsung’s new flagship devices have a problem with their displays. Basically, touch input can’t always be detected accurately.

A video shows the display on the two new Samsung flagships is not very sensitive

It appears both Samsung’s new flagships are plagued by this issue, as it is demonstrated in the video embedded below.

The new flagship duo has a problem when it comes to the display, near the bezels, where touch input can barely be registered (or scribbling in this particular scenario).

It appears the issues are affecting the Galaxy S6 more because a larger portion of the display seems to be lacking sensitivity. The problems are also putting a toll on the Galaxy S6 Edge, but to a lesser degree.

It makes senses that Samsung has put more effort into making the Galaxy S6 more sensitive given the fact that users are supposed to perform swipe gestures form edge-to-edge on the smartphone’s display.

Unfortunately, the display issues observed in this instance might be caused by a hardware problem, so Samsung might not be able to fix things by virtue of a simple software update.

Can Samsung fix things in time for the global launch?

Luckily, the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge won’t go on sale just yet, so Samsung still has time to perfect things under the hood. Or at least get things right with the next-batch of devices.

If you were thinking of purchasing the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge, you better spare a few seconds and take a look at the video and the comparisons below. After all, the devices will be selling for pretty premium price tags, so you need to be informed on what you’ll end up spending a big part of your income on.
