Samsung is definitely the undisputed leader of mobile displays. The South Korean company puts some of the best displays into its high-end smartphones, but it also provides its displays to the competition.

Many handset makers order mobile displays from Samsung, so the competitors already recognize the South Korean company as a leader in this market.

With the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge, Samsung took its display mobile technology to another level. Both smartphones boast 5.1-inch Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) displays that offer 577ppi (pixel per inch).

This is amazing since the previous model, Galaxy S5 sports a 5.1-inch FHD (1080p) display that offers only 432ppi (pixel per inch).

But this isn't the only big improvement Samsung has made to its mobile display technology. Display Mate, a reputable website that does complex display lab tests, has just published the results for Samsung Galaxy S6 smartphone.

According to this complex report, Galaxy S6's display not only matches but also breaks records in smartphone display performance.

It's also worth mentioning that this is the second display tested by Display Mate that scores “Very Good to Excellent” after Samsung Galaxy Note Edge.

It also has significantly higher peak Brightness, significantly higher Contrast Ratio in both low and high Ambient Light, significantly higher Absolute Color Accuracy, significantly better Viewing Angel performance, and has 4 selectable screen modes instead of a single fixed one on the iPhones.”
