Not a day goes by without a new rumor related to Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S6 smartphone popping up, which is a good indication that the flagship will be unveiled soon at MWC 2015.

Yesterday, it became apparent that Samsung will not be offering an all-metal Galaxy S6, like we all hoped it would. Actually, the top-tier will arrive with a design reminiscent of Sammy’s older Galaxy Note 4, boasting a metal frame covered by glass panels on the back and front side.

The purported specs of the device have also leaked online, so we knew the handset will arrive with a Snapdragon 810 processor fitted with 3GB of RAM.

But due to overheating concerns related to the Snapdragon 810 platform, Samsung has been said to be giving up the usage of the Qualcomm platform in the Galaxy S6 and take up its Exynos models instead.

The Galaxy S6 Edge to be on par with Xiaomi Note Pro and ASUS ZenFone 2

Samsung will also purportedly unveil a Galaxy S6 variant which will take advantage of dual curved edges on the side. And according to a report coming from Korea Investment & Securities (seen at Web Trek), the Galaxy S6 Edge will arrive on the market boasting a more powerful configuration.

It’s the exact scenario we have seen with Xiaomi’s latest phablets. The Mi Note offers a Snapdragon 801 and 3GB of RAM, while the Mi Note Pro relies on a Snapdragon 810 plus 4GB of RAM.

Well, the Galaxy S6 Edge won’t go using the Snapdragon 810, as the report stipulates the model will work with an octa-core Exynos 7420 CPU under the hood, but it will still take advantage of 4GB of RAM like the Mi Note Pro and ASUS ZenFone 2.

Other purported specs of the Galaxy S6 Edge include 5.5-inch display with 1440 x 2560 pixel resolution, a 20MP main camera and a 5MP frontal snapper for selfie-taking activities.

These specifications might as well change until Samsung officially unveils the Galaxy S6, so keep checking back with us for more novelties on the topic.
