Galaxy S5, supposedly the next flagship Android-based smartphone from South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung, won’t come to the market with a high-end camera, but it should pack optimized one-handed operation capabilities, it seems.

A patent application that Samsung has filed not long ago shows that the company is considering means to allow users to resize the on-screen interface in accordance with their “comfort zone,” which is described by the scope of the thumb, as SamMobile notes.

Moreover, it seems that users will be offered the possibility to resize the window of an application to any part of the screen they would like to, info that galaxyclub.nl has uncovered shows.

The most interesting aspect of the deal is the fact that users will also be able to rotate an app’s window in any way. On top of that, they will have the possibility to change the density of the interface’s elements.

All in all, the feature appears to be highly appealing, especially since it will certainly make the one-hand experience on the Galaxy S5 much better than it was on Galaxy Note 3 or on Galaxy S4.

However, there’s no official confirmation on Samsung’s plans to include the feature inside its upcoming smartphone, or in any other device set to land on shelves next year, for that matter.

Provided that the leading mobile phone maker will indeed have it included in the features list of Galaxy S5, chances are that users with older devices will also get a taste of it, most probably via software updates.

Owners of Galaxy Note 3 and other handsets from Samsung that pack large touchscreens will certainly benefit the most from it.

Even so, there’s no guarantee that this won’t remain only an unused patented technology, so keep an eye on this space to learn more on what Samsung might have in store for its users with the next year’s smartphones.
