Mobile phone users in the UK interested in the purchase of a Samsung Galaxy S5 smartphone can now head over to Carphone Warehouse to pre-order the device for an April 11 delivery.

The handset was put up for reservations in all four color versions that Samsung announced for it last month at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, though only two of its variants will be available on April 11 at this retailer, it seems.

The Black and White iterations of Samsung Galaxy S5 will be in stock on April 11, the Blue variant will start shipping on April 22, while the Gold variant won’t be available until May 20, the vendor unveiled on its website.

On the one hand, this does not come too much as a surprise, since Vodafone UK has already announced that the Gold Galaxy S5 will be exclusive to it at launch.

At Carphone Warehouse, the Samsung Galaxy S5 went up for pre-order with a price tag of £579.95 ($964/€702) attached to it, SIM-free.

Users interested in grabbing it on a monthly contract will be able to find it available at no upfront cost on plans starting at £42 ($70/€51) per month, the company announced. Upgraders will be able to acquire it at the same price tag, it seems.

The retailer also announced that users who pre-order the device through it would also enjoy a £100 ($166/€121) cashback deal on it.

As a reminder, Samsung Galaxy S5 was made official in Barcelona with a 5.1-inch touchscreen display capable of delivering a full HD resolution (432PPI pixel density) and is powered by a 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor.

Moreover, the mobile phone arrives on the market with 2GB of RAM packed inside as well as with various internal memory options, starting at 16GB. It also sports a microSD memory card slot, to allow users to add up to 128GB of external storage to it.

On the back, the Samsung Galaxy S5 sports a 16-megapixel camera capable of recording videos in 4K resolution. Moreover, it has a 2MP front camera for making video calls while on the go.

The smartphone packs 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS receiver, along with the usual set of sensors packed inside, including a fingerprint scanner in the home button and a heart rate monitor on the back.

“If you're into fitness or want to improve your health, the Galaxy S5 is ideal. You can track your exercise statistics, what food you've eaten, your weight and even your stress levels with the new S-health 3.0. There's even a Coach app that'll help you achieve your health goals,” the retailer explains.

“On the back of the S5, next to the flash is a heart rate monitor. Just place your finger over the monitor and let S-Health use your heart rate to track your fitness.”

Galaxy S5 was announced with a dust- and water-resistant design, as well as with the Android 4.4 KitKat operating system loaded on top. It also comes with Samsung’s own TouchWiz user interface.
