Word about Samsung Galaxy S5 Zoom emerged less than two weeks ago when a certain device codenamed Samsung SM-C115 leaked online via AnTuTu benchmark.

According to various insiders, Samsung SM-C115 is the unannounced Galaxy S5 Zoom, which is said to arrive at some point this year. Well, it looks like that will happen sooner rather than later.

Samsung Mobile has just tweeted a teaser, which is also an invitation to a launch event that will be held on April 29 in Singapore.

Dubbed “Samsung Media Day,” the invitation for this event dares attendees to “Kapture the Moment” and bears a large “K” letter, which suggests that this will be the name of the new device to be revealed later this month.

Unfortunately, Samsung did not offer more details on what device it planned to launch on April 29, though given the words on the invitation, everyone suspects that the South Korean company will unveil the Galaxy S5 Zoom.

As per the invitation, the smartphone will probably be released as Samsung Galaxy K, instead of the longer Galaxy S5 Zoom tagline. Here is hoping that this event is about a smartphone and not just another Samsung camera.

Given the fact that Samsung has yet to officially reveal the Galaxy S5 Zoom, all we have now regarding the smartphone’s specs are the latest rumors that surfaced about 10 days ago.

According to these rumors, the Galaxy S5 Zoom or Galaxy K will be packed with a 20.2-megapixel monster camera on the back, which will be capable of capturing pictures with a maximum resolution of 5184 x 3888 pixels.

Furthermore, the main camera will offer lots of nifty features such as OIS (Optical Image Stabilization), Xenon Flash, 10x optical zoom and autofocus.

We can safely assume that the smartphone will be capable of capturing full HD (1080p) videos, but it will be interesting to see if Samsung adds 4K video recording.

Other highlights of the Galaxy S5 Zoom might include a 4.8-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720p) resolution.

Hardware-wise, the smartphone is said to come equipped with a Samsung Exynos Hexa (5260) chipset that packs ARM’s big.LITTLE HMP technology. The chipset should pack two 1.7GHz dual-core Cortex-A15 processors and four 1.3GHz quad-core Cortex-A7 CPUs.

It will also come with a quad-core ARM Mali-T624 graphics processing unit and 2GB of RAM. No word on the amount of storage, but the smartphone will surely come with microSD card slot for memory expansion. Stay tuned for more updates on the matter.
