Samsung Galaxy S5 Receives New Software Update at T-Mobile

The update will resolve a series of issues with the phone's SMS/MMS capabilities

Wireless carrier T-Mobile has started to provide the owners of Samsung Galaxy S5 devices on its network with a new software update, so as to resolve some issues that have been discovered on the device recently.

The new software release, available for download as version G900TUVU1ANE5, will provide users with a patch for an intermittently incoming SMS/MMS failure, the available changelog unveils.

The update is already being pushed to users out there over the air, though they will also be able to download and install it via the Kies desktop application.

“On May 22, the Samsung Galaxy S 5 will receive an update to with Android version 4.4.2/ Baseband G900TUVU1ANE5 via Over-the-Air (OTA) or Samsung Kies over Wi-Fi only,” the wireless carrier announces.

According to T-Mobile, all Galaxy S5 users on its network should receive the update by June 10. The new firmware release weighs 131.31 MB.

Users can check on their devices to see whether the software is available for them by heading to Settings > General > About Phone and clicking the Check now button.

Before proceeding with the update, users should make sure that the battery inside their devices has been loaded at least at 50 percent. The handset will need to be restarted to complete the installation.
