Following the official unveiling of Samsung Galaxy S5 at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona earlier this week, various carriers and retailers around the world have announced plans to add the phone to their offerings, including those in Australia.

Mobile phone users in this country will be able to purchase the new flagship Android device on the networks of four major wireless carriers, Ausdroid notes. Moreover, retailers will also launch it, and some have already put it up for pre-order.

Mobicity is one of them, currently offering the 16GB Samsung Galaxy S5 model at $899.95AUD ($803USD/€581) plus delivery. The handset can be reserved in Charcoal Black, Shimmery White, and Electric Blue color options, but the Copper Gold is not available as of now.

The price tag that Samsung’s new high-end smartphone features at the moment in Australia is lower than the one it has been listed in Europe at, though the company hasn’t officially confirmed it as of now.

Chances are that other retailers in Australia will also launch the phone in the near future, and that more info on pricing will be available at that time.

Galaxy S5 has been announced with a release date of April 11, and Mobicity says that it might be able to start shipping it on that day. Stay tuned for more on the matter.
