Mobile phone users in Canada interested in the purchase of a Samsung Galaxy S5 smartphone via wireless carrier TELUS can now head over to the carrier’s website to reserve it.

The high-end Android-based device will be launched in the country on April 11, the same day that it will land on shelves in other markets out there, and TELUS will be offering it to its customers starting with that day as well.

Galaxy S5 is the latest flagship Android handset from Samsung, packing a 5.1-inch full HD touchscreen display and powered by a 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor, paired with 2GB of RAM.

Samsung plans on making the phone available for purchase in around 150 markets starting with the next week. Apparently, the device might see limited availability, at least in the beginning, and TELUS could be affected by this.

“Due to limited stock, we are accepting pre-orders on 2-year terms. Month-to-month purchases will be added as more stock becomes available,” the carrier notes.

Galaxy S5 also arrives on the market with a 16-megapixel camera on the back, a 2MP front camera for video calling, and Google’s Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system loaded on top.

The smartphone is powered by a 2800mAh battery, which should provide its owners with all-day usage capabilities. The handset also comes with a dust- and water-resistant design.
