South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung might have lost market share during the second quarter of the year, but it appears that the company is determined to regain some of the lost ground through the release of new devices on more markets out there.

Two such phones have been officially launched in the UK today, namely the Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini and Galaxy Young 2, and both of them will start arriving in the country in August.

In fact, the Galaxy S5 Mini has been already available for pre-order on Samsung UK’s website for a while now, and it has been confirmed this week to arrive on shelves as soon as August 7.

In addition to Samsung’s own stores, other high street retailers, including Carphone Warehouse, will also add the mobile phone to their offerings. All of them will release it at the same time, late next week.

For those out of the loop, we should note that Galaxy S5 Mini comes to shelves with a 4.5-inch touchscreen display capable of delivering a 720p resolution.

Moreover, the mobile phone features a 1.4 GHz quad-core processor, along with 1.5GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory, complemented by a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 64GB of additional storage space.

Samsung Galaxy S5 mini also arrives on the market with an 8-megapixel camera on the back, capable of recording videos in full HD resolution, as well as with a 2.1MP front camera for making video calls while on the go.

The handset also arrives on shelves with support for 4G LTE networks, as well as with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, and NFC capabilities, GPS receiver, and a 2100mAh battery. The smartphone runs under the Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system.

As for the Samsung Galaxy Young 2, the handset was made official with a 3.5-inch touchscreen display capable of delivering a 480 x 320 pixels resolution, as well as with a 1GHz processor inside.

The mobile phone features 512MB of RAM, along with 4GB of internal memory, and a microSD memory card slot for expansion purposes. The handset also features a 3.15MP camera on the back and is powered by a1300mAh battery.

As Android Central notes, the Samsung Galaxy Young 2 is expected to become available for purchase in the UK in mid-August. Unfortunately, no specific info on the pricing that this phone might feature has been provided as of now, though we expect it to be very cheap.
