Good news for Samsung fans in Australia, as the Galaxy S5 is likely to be launched in the country on April 11 as the South Korean company confirmed last week.

Unveiled at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2014 trade fair, Samsung Galaxy S5 will be launched simultaneously in more than 150 countries on April 11.

At least that’s what Samsung announced during its press conference and it looks like this is happening according to plan.

For example, Australia is likely to be among the first wave of countries to receive the Galaxy S5 on April 11. The folks over at AusDroid report Samsung Australia has already sent invitations for a Galaxy S5 launch event, which is set to take place on March 26.

Samsung is expected to officially introduce the Galaxy S5 in Australia on March 26, along with its new wearables announced at MWC 2014, including the Galaxy Gear 2, Gear 2 Neo and Gear Fit.

Unfortunately, there’s no confirmation regarding the Galaxy S5’s availability in Australia, but we suspect it won’t hit shelves before April 11 when the smartphone should go on sale in over 150 countries.

Samsung Galaxy S5 will be available through all four major carriers in Australia at no upfront cost and with new two-year plans. However, the value of required plans is still unknown for the moment.

Those interested in acquiring the Samsung Galaxy S5 without having to commit to a long-term contract may want to check out some of the authorized resellers in the country that are already taking pre-orders for the flagship smartphone.

As AusDroid points out, major retailer DMavo seems to have the cheapest price option for the Galaxy S5, as customers will have to come up with “only” $880 (€580) upfront. Mobicity, on the other hand, is asking slightly more for the Galaxy S5 which is now priced at $900 (€590) outright.

Other retailers across the country are still trying to determine the interest for the Samsung Galaxy S5, so there aren’t any price tags attached to pre-orders yet, but we expect more details will emerge in the next few weeks.

There’s also a high chance that Samsung will make an announcement regarding the Galaxy S5 pricing, so we should know more on this one on March 26.

Android fans still unfamiliar with the flagship’s features and capabilities may want to check our database for Samsung Galaxy S5 full specs sheet.
