Soon, mobile phone users in Europe might be able to purchase a new flavor of the Samsung Galaxy S5 smartphone, one that will provide them with LTE-Advanced capabilities.

For those out of the loop, we should note that Samsung released a Samsung Galaxy S5 LTE-A smartphone in South Korea, and the same device is heading to Europe as well.

When made available for purchase, the new mobile phone will sport model number SM-G901, and a GFXBench listing appears to confirm some of the hardware specs that it will arrive on shelves with.

As SamMobile notes, the Samsung SM-G901 is confirmed as being the European version of Galaxy S5 LTE, even if no official announcement on the matter has been made as of now.

Apparently, it will sport a series of hardware changes when compared to the South Korean version, including a lower-resolution display.

To be more precise, while the Samsung Galaxy S5 LTE-A was made available in South Korea with a Quad HD touchscreen display, the device will be launched in Europe with a full HD screen.

Basically, this means that the smartphone will feature the same 5.2-inch screen that the original Galaxy S5 smartphone was made official with back in February.

However, the mobile phone will be released on the old continent with a 2.45GHz quad-core Snapdragon 805 processor inside, paired with Adreno 420 graphics.

Additionally, the handset will sport 2GB of RAM, as well as 16GB of internal memory, and a microSD memory card slot for expansion purposes.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 LTE-A for Europe should feature a 16-megapixel camera on the back, which is expected to be the same ISOCELL sensor that the original device includes.

A 2-megapixel camera will be present on the front of this smartphone, providing users with the possibility to make video calls while on the go.

The usual set of connectivity capabilities and sensors will also be included in the device, along with the Android 4.4.4 KitKat operating system and various exclusive applications and features coming from Samsung itself.

Unfortunately, no specific details on when the new mobile phone might be announced for Europe have been provided as of now. Info on its price tag is missing as well, along with specifics on the markets that will receive it.

However, considering the fact that Samsung has been losing market share lately, we might expect it to make the new phone official sooner rather than later, so keep an eye on this space for updates.
