Galaxy S5, the latest flagship Android-based smartphone from South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung Electronics, has been rumored before to arrive on shelves in a Google Play Edition too, and confirmation on the matter appears to have emerged today.

The smartphone has been spotted on the Bluetooth SIG certification website, where it sports model number SM-G900FG, as SammyToday has found out.

The mobile phone was spotted online before on Google’s own portal, yet no official announcement on its arrival on shelves has been provided as of now.

For those out of the loop, we should note that the handset is expected to be released through the Google Play Store, and that it should sport the same hardware specifications as the original Galaxy S5.

However, the Galaxy S5 Google Play Edition will provide users with a near-stock Android experience, as it will not feature the customizations that Samsung loaded on top of the initial model.

As mentioned above, no announcement on the phone has been made as of now, yet chances are that it won’t be too long before this happens, especially since other flagship models out there have already arrived in Google Play Editions. Keep an eye on this space for additional info on the matter.
