After being released in South Korea ahead of its official market release, Samsung Galaxy S5 has finally reached Japan. One of the first carriers to offer the flagship smartphone is NTT Docomo, which has some nice surprises for its customers.

Samsung fans in Japan patiently waiting for the Galaxy S5 to arrive in the country will be rewarded by NTT Docomo with the possibility to get a pink color version of the handset.

However, the Japanese carrier does not offer the whole range of color options available for the Galaxy S5. Although Samsung has announced that the smartphone will be launched in Charcoal Black, Copper Gold, Electric Blue, and Shimmery White, NTT Docomo only offers the Black and White color options, besides Pink.

Still, there’s a chance that additional color versions will be available for NTT Docomo’s customers later on, though this is just a speculation for the moment.

Even though Samsung usually launches different variants of its flagship smartphone, in this case, when it comes to specs, the NTT Docomo Galaxy S5 is similar to the international version.

There are slight differences between the two, but they are meant to make the smartphone more suitable for NTT Docomo customers by adding a few more services specific to Japan and this carrier in particular.

As SammyHub points out, the Galaxy S5 in Japan comes with support for NTT Docomo’s Xi LTE service, which offers higher download and upload data speeds. It also comes preloaded with VoLTE (Voice over LTE) support and FeliCa NFC (Near Field Communication).

Furthermore, the NTT Docomo Galaxy S5 features One-Seg and NOTTV support, so the carrier’s customers will be able to enjoy their favorite soap operas while on the move.

Apart from these additions to the already powerful Samsung Galaxy S5, the NTT Docomo version of the smartphone is similar to the international model.

This means that potential customers should expect Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system out of the box, 2.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor and 2GB of RAM.

The smartphone comes with no less than 32GB of internal memory, but users will be able to further expand storage up to 128GB. It is also worth mentioning that the Galaxy S5 boasts one of the best displays available on the market.

The 5.1-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen supports full HD (1080p) resolution and features 432ppi (pixel density), along with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 coating.

On a side note, Samsung fans will be pleased to know that NTT Docomo also sells the Gear 2 and Fear Fit wearables that can be connected to the Galaxy S5 and a few more other Galaxy models.
