We’ve reported earlier today that Samsung Galaxy S5 will be launched in India on March 27, when we expect the South Korean company to unveil more details on the smartphone’s availability and price tag.

However, given the previous history with this type of events, there’s a slim chance that Samsung will offer any official info on the Galaxy S5 exact release data and suggested retail price.

Luckily, Gizbot reports that sources close to the matter claim that Samsung Galaxy S5 is likely to hit shelves in India by April 15.

The smartphone will be available for purchase through most online retailers across the country for various prices by that date, so it might go on sale on April 11, just as Samsung confirmed last month.

According to the cited source, the Galaxy S5 will be priced between Rs 45,000 ($740 / €540) and Rs 50,000 ($820 / €600) outright.

Customers in India will be able to grab the Samsung Galaxy S5 in Charcoal Black, Shimmery White or Cooper Gold, but the Electric Blue color option has yet to be confirmed.

For the time being, it’s unclear whether or not Samsung will manage to bring the Galaxy S5 in Electric Blue in India at the time of market release, so stay tuned for more updates on this one.

It is also worth mentioning that Samsung is likely to launch the Exynos-based Galaxy S5 model in India, which lacks LTE support but offers an octa-core processor. Aside from that, there are no differences between the Qualcomm and Exynos Galaxy S5 variants.

For those unfamiliar with the Galaxy S5’s specs here is a quick recap. Samsung’s next flagship smartphone boasts a 5.1-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 coating.

The smartphone comes with a fingerprint scanner and is IP67 certified (dust and water resistant). It also packs 16GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD memory card.

There’s also an impressive 16-megapixel photo snapper on the back, while in the front there’s a secondary 2-megapixel camera.

Keep in mind that, given the fact that this piece of information has yet to be confirmed by Samsung, we recommend our readers to take it with a grain of salt.

We expect more details on the Galaxy S5 market release and pricing options to be available later this week when Samsung plans to officially introduce the smartphone in India.
