14 DAY TRIAL // Samsung’s Galaxy S5 hasn’t been officially confirmed as of now, but more and more rumors on the device have started to emerge lately, fueling users’ imagination in regard to what Samsung might make official in the not too distant future.
One such user decided to come up with a video concept to showcase their vision of the device and published the result on YouTube, for everyone to see it.
The video can be seen embedded at the bottom of this post, and is aimed at showcasing the enhanced voice recognition capabilities of the mobile phone, paired with a complex voice commands system.
In said user’s vision, the upcoming Samsung flagship device would allow users to speak a succession of commands, while the device would be able to interpret them all and respond accordingly.
The idea is similar to the voice recognition system already implemented by Google inside Moto X. Even the trigger phrase, “OK, Galaxy,” is similar.
According to the designer, a new TouchWiz loaded on top of Android 4.4 KitKat would allow users to easily control their smartphones without ever touching the screen.
Unfortunately, this is only a concept for the time being, and there’s little chance that Samsung will actually pack such a voice command system inside the upcoming flagship.
However, Galaxy S5 has been long rumored to hit the market with top-of-the-line hardware packed inside, including a 2k screen and a more powerful processor, as well as with better software capabilities coming from Samsung themselves.
And with the South Korean handset vendor always aiming at staying at the top of the smartphone market, we might see it planning capabilities similar with those featured in the video below.
In the meantime, however, take this Galaxy S5 only as a concept, and don’t raise your hopes too high regarding the capabilities of the actual smartphone, which should be officially announced in the coming months.
