Samsung confirmed last night during its Unpacked 5 press event in Barcelona that its next flagship smartphone the Galaxy S5 would be launched in no less than 150 countries on April 11.

It’s unclear if the smartphone will be available in all 150 countries simultaneously, but we suspect Samsung Galaxy S5 will be released in April in most of these countries.

Android enthusiasts and fans in Canada too will be pleased to know the Galaxy S5 will be available at all major carriers in April. No word on the exact release date or pricing options yet, but according to MobileSyrup, Samsung Galaxy S5 will arrive to 11 Canadian carriers.

For the time being Virgin Mobile, TELUS, Bell Canada and Videotron have already gone live with their pre-registration pages for Samsung Galaxy S5, so customers who wish to be informed when the smartphone will go on sale can now register with their emails.

Furthermore, Fido and Rogers now allows customers to reserve their Samsung Galaxy S5 units before they go on sale. However, only the white and black versions are available in the online reservations systems, so the blue and gold Galaxy S5 may arrive later on.

Eastlink, WIND Mobile, Koodo and SaskTel will also offer the Samsung Galaxy S5 at some point, but for the time being there are no additional details on when exactly these carriers will put the smartphones on sale.

For those unaware of the recently announced Galaxy S5 flagship smartphone, here is a quick recap. The handset supports all LTE bands and features IP67 rating which makes it dust- and waterproof.

The Galaxy S5 is powered by a 2.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM and either 16GB or 32GB of storage.

It also boasts a 5.1-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution and packs a 16-megapixel rear-facing camera. Stay tuned for more updates on Galaxy S5’s pricing options in Canada.
