Galaxy S5, the latest flagship smartphone from South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung, will arrive on shelves at Virgin Mobile on May 19, the wireless carrier has officially confirmed.

The handset has already been launched through various wireless carriers in the United States, but it seems that Samsung is determined to make it available through more of them soon.

At the moment, the phone can be seen listed on Virgin Mobile’s website with the aforementioned release date attached to it, but no specific info on its pricing has been provided as of now.

Samsung Galaxy S5 will arrive on shelves at this wireless carrier with all of the features and capabilities that it was announced with in February during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

This includes a 5.1-inch touchscreen display capable of delivering a full HD resolution, as well as a 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor inside.

Moreover, the mobile phone features 2GB of RAM inside, as well as 16GB of internal memory, paired with a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 128GB of external storage space.

On the back, the phone sports a 16-megapixel camera with support for 4K video recording, complemented by a front camera for making video calls while on the go.

Galaxy S5 was also launched with the entire range of usual connectivity capabilities inside, such as 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, and the like. Moreover, it has a GPS receiver, heart monitor sensor, and the full set of other sensors.

In fact, Virgin Mobile teases the new handset as capable of offering a great Internet experience to all of its users, as it will be connected to Sprint’s nation-wide 4G LTE network.

Samsung Galaxy S5 runs under Google’s Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system, while also featuring a great deal of customizations and exclusive applications and features coming from Samsung themselves.

Virgin Mobile customers should also know that the wireless carrier provides them with the possibility to receive a discount on the purchase of the new Galaxy S5 upon trading in an old handset.

In fact, the company notes that those who are interested in taking advantage of this deal could receive a discount of up to $300 (€218) towards the purchase of the new smartphone.
