The phone arrives on shelves on July 20 in three color flavors

Soon, mobile phone users in India will be able to purchase a 4G LTE-enabled flavor of the Samsung Galaxy S5 smartphone, after the device arrived on shelves in the country several months ago only with 3G connectivity inside.

Just as previously rumored, the mobile phone arrives on shelves with support for support for 8 LTE bands, namely B1 (2,100), B2 (1,900), B3 (1,800), B5 (850), B7 (2,600), B8 (900), B40 (2,300) and B28 (700).

The new Galaxy S5 4G LTE arrives on shelves with a 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor inside, unlike the 3G variant, which sports an Exynos CPU inside.

Other than that, the mobile phone will include the same hardware capabilities as the previous model, starting with the 5.1-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen display capable of delivering a full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels).

When made available for purchase in India, Samsung Galaxy S5 4G will feature a price tag of Rs. 53,500 ($855/€655), and will also be bundled with 5GB of 4G data/month free for 2 months for Airtel subscribers.

The mobile phone will be released in the country on July 20, and will be put up for sale in three color flavors, namely Copper Gold, Charcoal Black, and Shimmery White, fonearena reports.

“We are excited to introduce our first 4G variant of the Galaxy S5 in India with a powerful processor, stunning display and faster connectivity for an unmatched user experience,” Asim Warsi, vice president – Marketing, Mobile & IT, Samsung India, said.

“We expect the 4G version to catch the imagination of technology enthusiasts and professionals, who demand superior smartphones for their heavy multimedia content consumption.”

Galaxy S5 lands on the market with 2GB of RAM, as well as with 16GB of internal memory, paired with a microSD memory card slot capable of supporting up to 128GB of additional storage space.

In addition to the 4G LTE connectivity, the handset also comes with support for 3G HSPA+ networks, as well as with Wi-Fi 802.11ac (2X2 MIMO), Bluetooth 4.0 LE, microUSB 3.0, and NFC capabilities. The phone also sports a built-in GPS receiver.

On the back, Galaxy S5 features a 16-megapixel camera with LED flash and 4K video recording capabilities, complemented by a 2.1MP front-facing camera for making video calls while on the go. The handset features IP67 ratings for dust and water resistance.

Moreover, the mobile phone also arrives on the market with a 2800mAh battery inside, while running under the Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system, with Samsung’s own set of customizations loaded on top.
