US Cellular has just released the smaller version of the Samsung Galaxy S4 flagship smartphone and customers can pick this one up for no less than $500 (€370) off contract.

Both white and black color options of Galaxy S4 mini are now available at US Cellular. Those who don't mind committing to a new two-year agreement can grab the smartphone for just $50 (€37) on two-year agreements.

The pricing of the device is a bit surprising if we take into consideration the fact that the carrier has better deals on other handsets right now. For example Samsung Galaxy S4 and Motorola Moto X are both available for free on contract.

Anyway, those who want a smaller smartphone can give the Galaxy S4 mini a try. The device ships with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box, but Samsung has already started the rollout of Android 4.3 update.

This means that US Cellular Galaxy S4 mini should receive the upgrade as well within the coming weeks, so stay tuned for more on this.

On the inside, Samsung Galaxy S4 mini comes equipped with a more than decent 1.7 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, an Adreno 305 graphics processing unit and 1.5GB of RAM.

Although the smartphone packs only 8GB, users will be able to further expand storage up to 64GB via microSD memory card.

Unlike the standard Galaxy S4 model that sports 5-inch display, the mini version comes with a smaller 4.3-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display that supports 540 x 960 pixels resolution and features Corning Gorilla Glass 2 coating.

On the back, the device features an 8-megapixel main camera with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording, while in the front there's a secondary 1.9-megapixel camera for video calls.

Other highlights of the phone include: LTE support, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity, FM Radio, 3.5mm audio jack and 1900 mAh Li-Ion battery.
