South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung Electronics has launched yet another Android-based smartphone on the market in Finland, in the form of Galaxy S4 mini Black Edition.

The smartphone has become available for purchase in the country today through Gigantti, one of the largest retailers in Finland, and is expected to be an exclusive to this company.

As esphoneblog notes, the phone is listed on Gigantti’s website with a price tag of €299 ($415) attached to it. Apparently, no other retailer in the country is listing the new device at the moment, which suggests that it might indeed be available exclusively through this company.

In fact, the move does not seem surprising at all. Only last week, Samsung made the Galaxy S4 Black Edition official in Finland exclusively through Gigantti, and the new model could have a similar fate.

For those out of the loop, we should note that Samsung made the Black Edition of both Galaxy S4 and Galaxy S4 mini official last month, when it also put them up for grabs in Russia.

The new models come with the same features and capabilities as the original versions of the smartphones, but are dressed up entirely in Black and are accompanied by a series of accessories that have been painted in Black as well.

The Galaxy S4 mini sports a 4.3-inch touchscreen display capable of delivering a 540 x 960 pixels resolution. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 2 and boasts a 256 ppi pixel density.

The handset is powered by a 1.7GHz dual-core Snapdragon 400 processor, paired with 1.5GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory. Moreover, it sports a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 64GB of additional storage space.

On the back, the mini version of Galaxy S4 features an 8-megapixel camera capable of recording videos in full HD resolution, complemented by a 1.9MP front camera for making video calls while on the go.

The smartphone also arrives on shelves with support for LTE networks, as well as with 3G connectivity, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Wi-Fi hotspot, and Bluetooth 4.0 capabilities. There’s also a built-in GPS receiver inside it.

In addition to the usual range of sensors, the handset also packs a Li-Ion 1900 mAh battery inside, capable of delivering up to 12 hours of talk time, or up to 300 hours of standby time.

Galaxy S4 mini was launched with the Android 4.2.2 OS loaded on top, but Samsung has already upgraded it to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, and the Black Edition model arrives on shelves in Finland with the newer platform release loaded on top.
