It is rolled out in stages, so it’s not available in all countries simultaneously

Samsung Galaxy S4 owners rejoice, as the South Korean company has just kicked off the rollout of the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update for the LTE version of the smartphone (GT-I9505).

SamMobile reports that the update is now available for download in Germany, but it will slowly be deployed in the rest of the countries by the end of the month.

The following changes have been included in this major upgrade, aside from the slight visual improvements:

- OpenGL 3.0 support; - TRIM support; - ANT+ Support; - Samsung KNOX implementation; - Samsung Wallet comes pre-loaded; - Improved RAM management; - Improved Display colour reproduction; - Improved TouchWiz Launcher; - New Samsung Keyboard; - New Samsung Browser; - New Reading Mode; - New Camera firmware; - Minor UI tweaks.

Samsung has promised to offer Android 4.3 Jelly Bean for all its high-end smartphones, while some mid-range devices are still waiting for the company’s decision.

We had rumors pointing to possible Android 4.3 upgrade for Samsung Galaxy mega 6.3 and Galaxy Note II, but nothing has been confirmed for now.

However, starting this week, Galaxy S4 LTE owners will receive the promised update OTA (over the air), so they may want to manually check for availability by going to Settings / More / About Device / Software update / Update. It’s possible to download and install the update via Samsung Kies desktop software.

According to SamMobile, Android 4.3 Jelly Bean is expected to arrive on Galaxy S4 (GT-I9500) starting next week, while Samsung Galaxy S3 is rumored to receive the update sometime in November.

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 owners will probably be disappointed to hear that Android 4.3 Jelly Bean upgrade for their favorite devices won’t be available until December because the handset maker plans to add the new S Pen features. Stay tuned for more info on the matter.
