Samsung's flagship Android-based Galaxy S mobile phone is now available for purchase in the UK via wireless carrier T-Mobile too. The handset already proved to be very popular and highly successful in a series of markets around the world, and chances are that it would prove just the same on T-Mobile's airwaves, especially with the carrier having it available for free on a £35 a month plan. The Galaxy S is available on T-Mobile UK's website here.

Running under Google's Android 2.1 operating system, the Samsung Galaxy S comes with a great deal of high-end features, including the 4-inch AMOLED touchscreen display, a fast 1GHz application processor, support for HSDPA, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity options, a 5-megapixel photo snapper with auto focus and video recording capabilities, and more. It should also be mentioned that the handset can edit recorded videos, in addition to being able to play them, at high-quality, courtesy of that large display.

Moreover, the new mobile phone comes with 8GB of internal memory, which is complemented by a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space. A 3.5mm audio jack is also part of the package, along with built-in GPS receiver, FM radio, and a battery that can offer up to 6 hours and 30 minutes of talk time, or up to 570 hours of standby time. The Samsung Galaxy S measures 122 x 64 x 10 mm and weighs in at 118 grams.

Here's what the wireless carrier has to say about the handset: “It's preloaded with Layar, YouTube and the Google suite of services, and Samsung's social hub displays all your contacts' emails, texts, social networking updates and photos in one stream. Swype text is really cool - continuously trace your finger over each letter and it spells the word, magic! View PDFs and edit documents on the move. Find your way and never get lost with A-GPS. For entertainment, download books from ebook and listen to the MP3 player and integrated radio with your own headphones in the 3.5mm audio jack.”
