Following its availability in South Korea and in the UK market, the high-end Samsung Galaxy S II smartphone is almost in users' hands in Australia as well. MobiCity has just confirmed that their Galaxy S II units are now shipping, and that they should arrive at users' door steps in early next week at the latest.

We're referring here to the Samsung i9100 Galaxy S II 16GB model, which comes unlocked and which sports a 12 months warranty from MobiCity.

“Stock began shipping this afternoon (05/05/11) and all pre-orders will be fulfilled by Monday. New orders ship from Tuesday 10th of May,” the company notes on their website.

The price tag for Galaxy S II was set at $899, which might not be that much for a dual-core flagship Android smartphone in the end.

For those out of the loop, we should note that the new device comes to the market with a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus touchscreen display that can deliver a WVGA resolution.

Moreover, it packs a dual-core 1.2GHz Exynos application processor, complemented by 1GB of RAM, and the aforementioned 16GB of internal memory, as well as a microSD memory card slot for up to 32GB of additional storage space.

The specifications list of the new device also includes HSPA+ connectivity, as well as Bluetooth 3.0 and 802.11 a/b/g/n WiFi, along with 3.5mm headphone jack, USB port, and built-in GPS receiver.

The Samsung Galaxy S II also comes with an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with support for 1080p Full HD video recording.

This is one of the slimmest devices on the market, measuring only 9 mm of thickness.

The handset is powered by Google's Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system version, and offers support for a wide range of Google Mobile Services, as well as for software available through the Android Market, in addition to the applications that Samsung loaded it with from the start.
