The successor of the popular Samsung Galaxy S Android smartphone, the Galaxy S II, is now available for pre-orders from Australian online retailer MobiCity for $899 AUD (roughly $910 USD).

Customers who purchase the handset unlocked will also receive a 12-month warranty from MobiCity, as well as a free accessory of their choosing (screen protector, car charger, leather case or gift wrapping).

Even though Samsung hasn't disclosed any information regarding the phone's price in the initial announcement, MobiCity is one of the several important retailers that have price-tagged the smartphone.

British retailer Clove has started accepting pre-orders for the device with shipments expected to commence as soon as April.

Unfortunately, the hefty price of the handset might lower its desirability factor, as Galaxy S II can be purchased in UK for approximately 610 GBP (about 600 EUR or $1000), tax included.

However, Swiss retailer Digitec is offering the Galaxy S II for only 699 CHF (roughly 540 EUR or $755), which makes it a much better deal for the Galaxy S brand fans.

It will be interesting to see the prices for which the device will be retailed in North America, as US carriers are known for drastically cutting down phones' prices, regardless of the suggested retail price.

As a reminder, Samsung Galaxy S II was officially introduced by the Korean manufacturer at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, last month.

The device is expected to hit the shelves as soon as next month in Europe, Asia and Australia. Apparently, the phone's price will be different depending on the location, but carriers will surely make it more appealing through subsidies.

Running Android 2.3 Gingerbread, the Galaxy S II is currently Samsung’s flagship smartphone. It embeds the manufacturer's latest display technology, as it features a 4.3 inch Super AMOLED Plus WVGA capacitive display, complemented by Gorilla glass.

The smartphone is delivered with TouchWiz 4.0 UI, as well as NFC support. Galaxy S II is powered by a dual-core 1GHz ARM Cortex-A9 processor and boasts an 8-megapixel photo snapper with 1080p video recording.
