Running under Google’s Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean operating system, Samsung’s new Galaxy S II Plus i9105 smartphone was launched as the successor of the Galaxy S II i9100 handset that landed on shelves roughly two years ago.

The phone has already been released in various markets around the world, and it appears set to visit North American shores as well.

For that, of course, it would need approvals from certification forums, but this seems to have been solved, as the phone has just emerged over at the FCC.

The smartphone received approvals with support for 850 / 1900 MHz HSDPA connectivity, which would make it fit for AT&T’s network. For the time being, however, nothing has been confirmed on this smartphone’s release in the country.

The phone sports 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED WVGA display, and an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back.
