Samsung Canada has just added a new device to their website, namely their latest flagship Android-based mobile phone, the Samsung Galaxy S II, which features the 'coming soon' tag at the company. Nothing was officially unveiled on the availability of this device in Canada, but the fact that
Galaxy S II is already listed there confirms that it should arrive soon on the market.
No further details were unveiled on the matter, such as details on the carriers that would add the mobile phone to their offering, nor on the price tag it might feature when made available for purchase.
However, chances are that, the same as it happened with the Galaxy S last year, the new device would arrive at all wireless carriers in the country.
Galaxy S II was rumored not too long ago
to arrive on the US market via all major carriers in the country, and Canadians might follow suit.
The smartphone was unveiled to the world in February this year, with Google's new Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS on board, and with a dual-core applications processor inside.
Before making it available, Samsung bumped the speed of the CPU from 1GHz to up to 1.2GHz, making it more powerful and more appealing to end-users.
The specifications list of Galaxy S II also includes 1GB of RAM, along with 16GB of internal memory, and a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space.
The smartphone comes with an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with support for full HD video recording, as well as with a front-facing camera for video calling.
It also sports support for HSPA+ networks, along with WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity capabilities, built-in GPS receiver, USB port, 3.5mm headphone jack, and the usual set of sensors.
According to the guys over at
MobileSyrup, Samsung said back in April that Canada should get the new mobile phone in early Q3, and the coming soon listing shows that things were already put in motion.
