It looks like Samsung's new flagship Android smartphone, the Galaxy S II, will be hitting the Indian market next month. Although no specific date has been disclosed, the device has just been confirmed by the company's officials.

As usual, the confirmation came through more or less official channels via Samsung Mobile India's Twitter account. While responding to a couple of users who asked about the phone's availability, Samsung wrote:

We don't have a fixed date for the launch of SG2 but you can expect it in the coming month.”

The Korean manufacturer has also confirmed recently the upcoming availability of the Galaxy S II in Singapore starting next month.

Unfortunately, Samsung Mobile India refrained to divulge further details regarding the phone's specs sheet or price.

The manufacturer has previously stated that it will retail two versions of the Galaxy S II, one with a dual-core Tegra 2 chipset inside, while the other version will embed a Samsung designed dual-core CPU.

It will also be interesting to find if the Galaxy S II will be delivered with NFC support at launch or this will be enabled depending on the market.

As a reminder, Samsung Galaxy S II was officially introduced by the Korean manufacturer at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, last month, along with the company's Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet.

The device is expected to hit the shelves as soon as next month in Europe, Asia and Australia, although no certain dates have been mentioned.

Obviously, the phone's price will be different depending on the location, but carriers will surely make it more appealing through subsidies.

Running Android 2.3 Gingerbread, the Galaxy S II embeds the manufacturer's latest display technology, as it features a 4.3 inch Super AMOLED Plus WVGA capacitive display, complemented by Gorilla glass for protection purposes.

The smartphone is delivered with TouchWiz 4.0 UI and boasts an 8-megapixel photo snapper with 1080p video recording capabilities.
